Our History

Welcome to our history page. Here, we proudly present the incredible journey of our union, highlighting key milestones and achievements that have shaped who we are today. Our story began with a dedicated group of 36 hospitalists who envisioned a better future for members. From those humble beginnings, we have experienced astonishing growth, expanding by 2000% to become a formidable voice in the labor movement.

Our rapid and remarkable growth is a testament to the power of unity and collective effort. Especially in the Northwest, we now represent the supermajority of unionized physicians, setting new standards in advocating for physicians’ rights, improving working conditions, and enhancing patient care. Explore the significant events that have defined our mission and discover how we are actively shaping the future of physician representation in the United States.
